School board is thanking Ripon Lions for scholarships

The Ripon Unified school board will meet today in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

At the 7 p.m. open session, elected leaders will recognize the Ripon Lions Club District 4A-1 for continued support and hospitality.

Among the events held by the local service organization is that of the annual Almond Blossom Spaghetti Dinner, which raises funds for scholarships.

Scheduled to accept the RUSD award on behalf of the Ripon Lions Club at the monthly session are Mark McLaughlin (president) and Brian Shearon (1st VP).

In other agenda items:

·         Trustees will hear the Chronic Absentee Summit presentation by Harvest High Principal Kathy Diederich and District Attendance Liaison Eva Stum.

·         They’ll also listen to the Math Professional Development for 6-8 grades as presented by Director of Curriculum & Instruction Dana Phelps.

·         Elected leaders will get the update on the Transportation Report 2024-2025 from Transportation Supervisor Maria Munoz along with Facilities from Director of Maintenance & Operations Andy Strickland.
