The Ripon Unified school board recognized those students Monday selected to this year's San Joaquin County Honor Band, Honor Choir, and Honor Orchestra.
The SJC Honor Concert Ensembles were made up of musicians from Ripon High and the Ripon Unified School District middle schoolers at Ripon Elementary, Ripona, Colony Oak, Weston, and Park View – they had to follow certain guidelines in preparation for their audition and were reviewed by SJC Music Educators Association members.
Accepted students were then invited to participate in a series of rehearsals that culminated in an annual concert led by inspiring guest conductors, according to the San Joaquin County Office of Education.
Those who participated locally included:
High School – Honor Band, Kari Marshall, Kaylee Randall; Honor Choir, Marko Ethan Nino Arceo, Danica Escola, Chetan Harvey, Chloe Lautenslager, Angelina Rivara, James Wilkins; Honor Orchestra, Gillian Corro, Ellena Parenti Gomez, Kaylee Randall, Emilie Valles, James Wilkins, John Yeung.
