RUSD board reviews virus protocols for its campuses

Trustees of the Ripon Unified School District will hear of the COVID-19 Staff and Student Prevention Protocols at Monday's 7 p.m. meeting in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Superintendent Ziggy Robeson is scheduled to speak on this agenda item.

Included will be daily self-health assessments upon entering any of the school sites and the District Office building.

Those with a temperature above 100 degrees will not be allowed past any of the checkpoints.

Staff and students experiencing any unusual symptoms — cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, headache, chills and body aches, loss of taste or smell, etc. — in the last 14 days will also be prohibited from entering the building.

Face coverings when indoors, social distancing and proper hand cleaning and sanitizing -- RUSD will continue to provide sanitizers for cleaning and disinfecting all work surfaces -- will also be part of the daily practice.

Robeson, in addition, will provide updated information on the re-opening plan.

The first day for RUSD students is Wednesday, Aug. 11.

Other agenda items are as followed:

  • Director of Maintenance & Operations Andy Strickland will give an update of work to the various facilities that took place throughout the district during the summer months.
  • Director of Curriculum & Categorical Programs Kathy Coleman will be available for the minor revisions to the Local Control Accountability Plan,calling for moving metrics from one goal to another.
  • Robeson will speak on behalf of the reapportionment criteria of the five Trustee Area boundaries.
