The Ripon Unified School District has achieved numerous milestones under the leadership of Superintendent Ziggy Robeson.

Trustees accepted her retirement letter “effective close to Aug. 1, 2025” – the exact date has yet to determined, said RUSD via press release – at Thursday’s special morning session.

The school board did so “with deep gratitude for 11 years of exceptional service.”

During that span, Robeson, who began her stint with the district as principal at Colony Oak Elementary School prior to becoming the top administrator, displayed “her dedication and belief in its transformative power” as the driving forces behind her remarkable leadership, according to RUSD.

She’s demonstrated unwavering advocacy for students coupled with innovative problem-solving and steadfast commitment to the excellence in education throughout her years with the district.

“On behalf of current and past board members as well as the entire Ripon Unified community, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Robeson for her hard work, perseverance, and dedication,” said board President Jason Winter.

He added: “She has always placed students at the center of every decision, and her tenure has been marked by integrity, honor, and significant advancements for our district.”

Her milestones and achievements included the expansion of Career Technical Education pathways – the new CTE building opened in October – along with enhancing art programs, improving infrastructure, and prioritizing socio-emotional well-being for students.

Trustees, meanwhile, will continue to discuss the process for selecting the next superintendent at the upcoming Feb. 5 monthly session.

“The board is committed to engaging the community and gathering valuable input throughout this process,” said RUSD.

A new superintendent is expected to be in place by July 1.

“We wish Dr. Robeson and her family all the best as they embark on this next chapter,” said Winter, speaking on behalf of the school board.
