Construction of River Islands High, as seen on the east section of campus, along Winton Avenue, is being spearheaded by Hale Construction.

The future Home of the Riptide continues to roll on.

Hale Construction of Lathrop is handling the work at River Islands High, described as a college-like campus with two-story classroom buildings, administration building, CTE building, student center / library, gymnasium, cafeteria, and a football practice field with an all-weather track.

The campus is targeted to open in August.

Work continued this week with a break Thursday from the recent wet weather. Roll Tide Way and Winston Avenue serve as the access road on this portion of River Island Parkway with the temporary closure of Paradise Road during construction.

The campus will accommodate 1,800 students once completed, with most of those first-ever classes currently attending EPIC Academy.

The Class of 2026 is on tap to be first graduates of River Islands High.

The school mascot is the Riptide.

The incoming freshmen class – eighth graders at EPIC Academy – will meet Thursday in the EPIC Academy gym for information night and to “unlock the secrets to an amazing high school experience,” said the recent social media post from River Islands High School.

River Islands High is part of the Banta Unified School District.

Construction of the 200,000-square-foot property – the first phase of the project is estimated at $150 million – kicked shortly after groundbreaking ceremony held in May.
