Students enrolled at River Islands High can mark their calendar for Friday, July 28.

Riptide Roll-in student orientation for the 2023-2024 school year will be held that morning at EPIC Academy, from 9 to 11 o’clock.

Those returning and newcomers can pick up their class schedule, student device, and have their photo taken for yearbook and ID card.

The state-of-the-arts campus on 46 acres along Paradise Road and River Islands Parkway is currently under construction. Groundbreaking on the newest Banta Unified School District site took place in May.

For now, River Island High students are being housed at EPIC Academy, a kindergarten through eighth-grade campus located at 2760 Penrose Lane in Lathrop.

They adopted the Riptides as their mascot, with the first graduates being that of the Class of 2026.

During the Riptide Roll-In, students can meet the staff led by Principal Carey Simoni.

They can also pick up the PE uniforms, spirit gear, ASB cards, and pay for device coverage.

In addition, a food truck is scheduled to be on site during student orientation. Payments for food will be conducted via cash or credit cards.
