The City of Ripon’s Fleet Maintenance Facility Project is nearing completion.
A few more change orders were recently approved by the Ripon City Council.
At last month’s meeting, elected leaders gave the OK on the installation of a gas conduit necessary for the wash equipment, electrical rework, HVAC condensate lines, and a backflow device, coupled with some electrical rework in the amount not to exceed $93,574.
No discussion was necessary on the change order – the payment sources, according to the staff report by Public Works Director James Pease, will come via Corp Yard AB1600, Enterprise Capital, and General Capital funds.
He noted that the gas conduit and backflow device was for the Equipment Wash Building – the cost related to the change was $54,622.
“The gas line conduit and water backflow device serving the equipment wash building was not indicated on the original contract drawings,” Pease said in his report.
The cost related for the Electrical / Equipment and HVAC Condensate Lines was $38,952.
“Adjustments were made to the locations of certain equipment inside the facility to avoid conflicts and provide a more practical working space – changes to the electrical connection locations were necessary to facilitate the modifications and an HVAC condensate line not shown on the original contract drawings was added,” said Pease.
The Ripon City Council awarded the Fleet Maintenance Facility Project to Diede Construction back in December 2022.
The contract price for the new corporate yard on Doak Boulevard plus the change orders is currently at about $11.8 million.
