With the weather heating up, residents of the City of Ripon can expect to use more water for their outdoor landscaping needs.

Director of Public Works James Pease provided the latest water conservation numbers at Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting.

He reported folks within city limits cut back their usage last month by 6 percent, using once again the pre-drought March 2013 groundwater levels as the baseline comparison.

They managed to reduce their outdoor water usage numbers by 25 percent from that of a year ago, Pease added.

Ripon is currently on a three-days-a-week watering schedule, from now through October.

Residents in homes with odd-ending numbered addresses are allowed to water their landscape on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Those residing in homes with even-ending numbered addresses can do likewise on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

No watering is allowed between 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. or 48 hours following any measurable rain fall.
