The City of Ripon will be conducting a pair of Housing Workshops next week.

The first of the two will be a Zoom session at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The link for that is https://us02web.zoon.us/j/87144294609 with the meeting ID: 871 4429 4609, or dial in at 1.669.900.6833 US (San Jose).

The second one will be an in-person workshop scheduled for Wednesday, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Both workshops will provide an introduction to the Housing Element Update process – the city is conducting a Housing Needs and Priorities Survey (https://https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RiponHousing) – with the current information and the housing development goals that the City of Ripon must plan for, as referred to as the Regional Housing Needs Allocation or RHNA.

The housing element update is necessary to help shape the future of housing in Ripon.

The workshop and survey will seek:

·         Goals, policies, and actions to address the current and projected housing needs.

·         Inventory of sites suitable to accommodate the housing needs allocations from now through 2031.

·         Assessment of financial and programmatic resources for housing development, rehabilitation, and preservation.

·         Analysis of fair housing issues and constraints.

The housing needs and priorities survey will look for input from residents, business owners, and interested parties to identify current housing conditions, needs, and priorities.

The community survey will also address those with unique housing needs, including seniors; persons with disabilities; developmental disabilities; large families (five or more); female-headed households with children; farmworkers; and the unhoused.
