Ripon Unified trustees will hear CTE update

With the new school year rapidly approaching, the Ripon Unified school board will hear the latest on the development of the Career Technical Education Center at Ripon High on Monday.

Director of Facilities & Operations Andy Strickland speak on that and other projects during the 7 p.m. open session in the City of Ripon Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

The CTE Center is the two-story structure that will accommodate a number of career pathway courses, including classes in ag science, ag business, diesel mechanics, software & systems, and patient care, just to name a few.

Other agenda items for the July meeting include:

·         A presentation of Summer School 2024 by Director of Curriculum & Instruction Dana Phelps, Harvest High Principal Kathy Diederich, and Coordinator of Special Education Ann Siegel.

·         Update on Title IX training and policy by Director of Student Services Lisa Mazza.

·         Resignations, retirements, and new hires as presented by Human Resources Manager Krista Galvan, who will also handle the local assignment options for teachers and staff members.
