The Ripon Unified School District recently received a donation of furniture.

This included a conference table, sit stand desks, credenzas, mobile filing cabinets, desk chairs nesting chairs, nesting tables, and nesting porcelain whiteboard from Swisslog Logistics, Inc. of Salida valued at $28,000, according to Director of Facilities, Operations, and Safety Services Andy Strickland at the Aug. 14 monthly session.

In his report, he noted that the three truckloads of furniture went to various sites throughout the school district.

Strickland provided updates at Ripon High, which had a new air conditioning unit installed in the North Gym several months ago. “Now, it’s (a consistent) 74 degrees inside the gym,” he said.

At RHS, he noted that the A/C system in the “D” wing needed replacement.

“It was last minute – the old one was no longer repairable,” said Strickland, who added that it took a span of three days to replace the old unit with a new one.

His staff remained busy during the past month.

Colony Oak Elementary School had issues with its water pump and wells resolved. “It’s now all green,” he said, pointing out at the re-done landscaping.

In addition, Strickland’s team trimmed 64 trees on the Ripona Elementary School campus as well as completed the renovations on the RHS practice football field.
