Ripon Unified enrollment reaches 3,327 students

The Ripon Unified School District enrollment from last month was 3,337.

That’s based on the reporting period from Oct. 2 through Oct. 27.

At Nov. 4 monthly session, the school board heard that Park View Elementary School had the top attendance figures during that span, with Ripona Elementary being the most improved, according to Director of Student Services Lisa Mazza.

Both school sites will get showcase the banner for “The Attendance Matters” – all part of RUSD’s School Attendance Improvement Strategies.

As for the enrollment numbers, Ripon High 1,018 students, which was down seven from a year ago, while Ripona and Park View tallied 470 and 466 students, respectively, during that third month reporting period.

Following closely were Ripon Elementary (446), Weston (445), and Park View (441).

In addition, 38 students were enrolled in the Independent Study program while 13 were in attendance at Harvest High, which is RUSD’s alternative education site.


New employees

The Ripon Unified School District announced 25 new hires at the recent school board meeting.

The board approved Chase Siebert as the new campus security personnel at Ripon High, Ivy Pierce as Technology Support Technician assigned to the District Office, Baylee Keller as an assistant to the Ripon Afterschool Program, and Berth Garcia at Ripona Elementary School, working yard duty.

Most of the newcomers were substitutes.

Monica Abrew, Almeida Bayt, Schuyler Becker, Charlene Cano, Natasha Chavez, Patrick Condon, Joshua Eichhorn, Jayasakthi Ekambaram, Wendy Fouts, Vanessa Jauregui, Anahat Mora, Michelle Qualle, Michelle Sandoval, Heather Vander Schaaf, Morgan West, Jennie Wilson, and Laurel Sedillos Vander Veen were added the substitute teachers’ pool.

Julie Mcauley and Punit Kuar were welcomed as Food Service substitutes while Megan West and Beatriz David are the new paraeducator subs.

Trustees, in addition, accepted three recent resignations, including one each from Ripona, Ripon Elementary, and the District Office.
