Ripon Unified bids adieu to Superintendent Ziggy Roberson
RUSD retire
Ripon Unified Superintendent Ziggy Robeson and Director of Student Services & Special Education Lisa Mazza recently received Golden Bell Awards as presented by the school board. Both are retiring at the end of the school year. Robeson was at RUSD for the past 11 years while Mazza was with the school district for seven years.

Ripon Unified Superintendent Ziggy Robeson received more accolades.

This time from the Ripon Chamber of Commerce.

She announced her retirement several months ago – effective at the end of the school year – with newly hired Rusty Clark taking over as the local school district’s top administrator. He served as superintendent of the Pleasant Ridge Union School District for the last 12 years.

The Chamber of Commerce praised Robeson via social media for her “exceptional services” at RUSD after 11 years.

“From leading Colony Oak (as principal for one year) to guiding the entire district, her legacy is one of innovation, student-centered leadership, and unwavering dedication to education,” the Chamber said on the May 19 post.

Robeson and Lisa Mazza – she, too, is retiring from RUSD after serving as Director of Student Services & Special Education for the past seven years – were recognized by the school board at the May 12 monthly session.

Both received Golden Bell Awards as appreciation for their years of service and dedication.

At the April RUSD board meeting, Diana Crofts was announced as the new Director of Student Services & Special Education Coordinator.

Trustees, in addition, honored student board member Isaiah Green for his services of the past year, awarding him at the May meeting with a trophy as a small token of appreciation.

The Ripon High senior graduated last week. Green’s current plans include attending Modesto Junor College in the fall and transferring later to UC Davis for the Aerospace Science & Engineering program.

As a student trustee, Green was a participant in the monthly meetings, having a vote on non-personnel items on the agenda as a representative of the RHS student body.

Robeson praised him for his “tireless energy and heart” while noting that he always asked questions.
