The search is on for the next superintendent of the Ripon Unified School District.
Several community meetings have been held thus far for the post currently held by Ziggy Robeson, who recently announced her retirement “effective close to Aug. 1 (the exact date has yet to be determined).”
The next superintendent-search meeting is 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Ripon High library.
According to the job summary: “The District Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer of the district, responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and management of district operations, including instructional programs, personnel, finances, facilities, and community relations.
“The superintendent ensures the district’s mission, vision, and goals align with state and federal regulations while fostering an inclusive culture that promotes academic excellence and student success.”
The meetings are part of the process for the community to provide their input on the next superintendent, Robeson noted at Monday’s school board meeting.
During her 11 years with the district, Robeson demonstrated unwavering advocacy for students coupled with innovative problem-solving and steadfast commitment to the excellence in education throughout the years.
Her milestones included the expansion of the Career Technical Education pathway – school officials from throughout the county recently visited the new CTE building with local FFA students helping out as hosts of the event, Robeson said in her superintendent report on Monday – along with enhancing art programs, improving infrastructure, and prioritizing socio-emotional well-being for students.
The goal for RUSD is for the next superintendent to be on board by July 1.
