The Ripon Unified school board recognized participants of the sixth annual Speech Contest.
These sixth through 12th graders, who, according to the Ripon High publication The Smoke Signal, were chosen by their teachers for “having the speech written and spoken in their entire grade and school.”
Prior to the board recognition, RHS student Adelynn Lane shared her speech to those attending the monthly session in the Council Chambers.
Trustees recognized sixth grade participants Baily Brown, Charis Ang, Camdyn Spyksma, Joy Dubois, and Mason Due; seventh graders Jordyn Breunig, Gurnazz Sidhu, Jayden Diaz, Sydney Hildebrand, and Mason Due; and eighth graders Danika Fitzpatrick, Zyden Lehmkuhl, Michael Gladnikov, and Aubree Lautenslager.
From RHS, they called out (ninth and 10 graders) Ajit Johal, Makenzie Kretz, Rilynn Lucero, and Lane, along with (11th and 12th graders) Emilio Machado-Perez, Alley Popplewell, Logan Trickey, and William Verver for their participation.
