Ripon starting its annual brush pickup on Oct. 15
city of ripon logo

For the City of Ripon, that means the annual brush pick-up program is right around the corner.

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 15 – through Jan. 7 – the City will be out and about, picking up leaves, trimmings, and, come December, Christmas trees.

For residents, it will not be necessary to call City Hall for the pick-up service. Rather, the Public Works crew will be checking with the various neighborhoods each week for trimmings and other such items.

The annual brush pick-up program guidelines include:

·         Palm tree cuttings will not be accepted.

·         Loose trimmings and leaves must be placed along the curbside.

·         Sidewalk gutters must remain clear for water runoff.

·         No other solid waste of any kind can be deposited among the clippings or leaves.

·         Branches should be no more that 4 feet long or 6 inches in diameter.

·         No stumps are allowed.

·         Do not bag or tie the trimmings.
