First Responders Appreciation Day in Ripon will take place on Saturday, April 5.

Ripon City Council member and event founder Michael Restuccia said at Tuesday’s monthly session to save the date.

At the recent Almond Blossom Festival parade, organizers of the seventh annual event sported a float, providing reminders of this special occasion.

First Responders Appreciation Day will once again kick off at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Ripon Police Department, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

From there, members of the community and others in attendance – the first 200 participants will receive free t-shirts – will take a walk along downtown Main Street to the Ripon Fire Station 1 at 142 S. Stockton Ave.

Once at the fire department, all will gather for a short presentation along with refreshments and snacks being served.
