The Ripon City Council recently approved the purchase of electronic equipment needed for the Fleet Maintenance Facility.

That’s the new City of Ripon corporate yard – a 12,500 square foot maintenance building and parking lot – at Doak Boulevard and Stockton Avenue.

Elected leaders gave the OK for the new computers, monitors, networking hardware and firewall at a cost not to exceed $9,228 at the Aug. 13 monthly meeting.

The purchase will come out of Corp Yard AB1600 fund, Enterprise & Capital fund, and General Capital fund.

Council, as part of the Fleet Maintenance Facility Project budget, approved $500.000 to help furnish items for the building back on December 2022.

Thus far, about $280,000 of that has gone for office and conference room furniture, the mobile vehicle column lifts, miscellaneous shop storage / shelving, and the recent purchase of electronic equipment.

The latter will be installed in the break / training room and office inside the new facility.
