Ripon school trustees recognize honor choir, band and orchestra

Ripon High senior Valente Hernandez was recently recognized by the San Joaquin County Office of Education as a Nelson Zane Music Award recipient. He achieved that by making the SJC High School Honor Concert in Orchestra during all four years of high school

The Ripon Unified school board recently recognized those students – Middle School and High School – who earned Honor Band, Honor Choir, and Honor Orchestra.

Ripon High senior Valente Hernandez, who plays the violin, earned one of the highest achievements from the San Joaquin County Office of Education as he was named a recipient of the Nelson Zane Award, participating in SJC High School Honor Concerts during all four years.

Here’s the complete list of RUSD Honor Band, Honor Choir, and Honor Orchestra students:

·         High School Honor Band – Kira Basinal, Kari Marshal, Tildon Medeiros, and Kaylee Randall.

·         High School Honor Choir – Lily Haggerty, Chetan Harvey, Maleiya Hinrichsen, Hailey Hoy, Braige Medeiros, Angelina Rivara, Jazmine Vasquez Boyce, James Wilkins, and John Yeung.

·         High School Honor Orchestra – Gillean Corro, Valente Hernandez, Ellena Parenti Gomez, and Emiliee Valles.

·         Middle School Honor Band – Clemens Castro and Christopher Nelson.

·         Middle School Honor Orchestra – Malini Harvey, Emilia Hsieh, Ethan Hsieh, Zyden Lehmkuhl, Nate Lopez, and Violet Weidman.
