Ripon recycling center is now open every day

The City of Ripon recently hired two new employees to work part-time at the Recycling Center.

Director of Public Works James Pease made that announcement at the Dec. 12 Ripon City Council meeting.

The recycling facility at 178 S. Industrial Ave. “will be open every day of the week for a period of time,” he added.

The extended operating days and hours are as followed:

·         Monday – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

·         Tuesday – 10 a.m. to noon / 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

·         Wednesday – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

·         Thursday – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

·         Friday – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

·         Saturday – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

·         Sunday – noon to 4 p.m.

The Ripon Recycling Center will be closed for the upcoming holidays – Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1 – as well as all major holidays.

All revenue generated at the recycling center goes to students of the Ripon Unified School District.

Among the items accepted are cardboard (must be clean and free of trash), TVs & screens (must be loaded directly into the container), plastics, glass, mixed paper, newspaper, Styrofoam, and CRV (aluminum cans and plastic bottles).
