Ripon Police ‘Unity’ effort starts Wednesday

The dunk tank involving Ripon police officers is a popular attraction at National Night Out, scheduled Tuesday, Aug. 6. Police, before that, will also be hosting “Unity in Our Community” beginning this Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. safety presentation at Bank of Stockton. The public is invited to this free event.

“Unity in Our Community” is the Ripon Police Department’s series of events leading into National Night Out 2024.

The opener of that will take place this Wednesday with the police-business partnerships safety presentation at the Back of Stockton, 234 W. Main St., beginning at 5:30 p.m. 

The schedule of events also include:

·         Thursday, Aug. 1 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., open house at the Ripon Police Department, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

·         Friday, Aug. 2 – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., free open swim at the Ripon Aquatics Center at Ripon High.

·         Saturday, Aug. 3 – 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Shred-it Paper Disposal event at the Ripon Police Department; 12 noon to 5 p.m., Porchfest 2024, featuring an afternoon of live performances at the various homes by local musicians.

·         Monday, Aug. 5 – 10 a.m., safety presentation at Bethany Homes, 999 Second St.; 12:30 p.m., safety presentation at the Ripon Senior Center, 433 S. Wilma Ave.

·         Tuesday, Aug. 6 – 6 p.m., National Night Out at the Ripon Community Center, 334 Fourth St.

According to police, these events will aim to strengthen community partnerships while maintaining Ripon’s unique atmosphere and safety.

“The public is invited to join the department staff in various activities and programs leading up to National Night Out,” said police via social media on Monday.
