Ripon Police hires 2 officers, fills CSO support position

The Ripon Police Department welcomed aboard three new hires.

 Officer Richard De La Sancha, Officer Travis Sharp, and Community Service Officer Laura Neula were sworn in at a ceremony held at the police department.

“They will strive to provide the highest quality of police services to this community,” the Ripon Police Department posted via social media.

De La Sancha graduated from the San Joaquin Delta College Police Academy in April. He was hired by the local police department in June and is currently assigned to patrol.

Sharp attended the Stanislaus Basic Police Academy, graduating in February 2019 – he previously worked as a police officer for the Escalon Police Department. Sharp was hired by Ripon police in August, and is currently assigned to patrol.

Neula is currently working in the Code Enforcement Division, having been hired on Nov. 29. She’s in her eighth week of training.
