Plans for five new storage facilities in Manteca are now in various stages of the approval process.

The Ripon Planning Commission will have a special meeting at 6 p.m. tonight on the proposed Ripon Parallel Self Storage facility.

Commissioners will look at approving the major site plan permit request to construct a 48,950 square foot self-storage on two parcels in the Light Industrial zoning district that runs parallel with northbound Highway 99, not too far from the Main Street entrance / exit ramps.

According to Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart, the applicant is proposing to develop a 255-unit self-storage facility on approximately 3.24 acres along Parallel Avenue.

Included would be:

  • Approximately 32 units at about 10 by 10 feet in size.
  • Another 211 units measuring 10 by 20 feet.
  • One 10-by-25-foot unit.
  • An estimated 11 units that would be 10 by 30 in size.

Zuidervaart added that the site would contain a small office with associated parking for unit rentals and site supervisors.

The session in the Ripon City Hall Council Chamber, 259 N. Wilma Ave., is open to the public.
