In support of the Ripon Consolidated Fire District, the Ripon City Council tonight will look to approve a resolution on the Fire Facilities Impact Study.

At the 6 p.m. open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave., elected leaders will first conduct a public hearing on the updated report adopted by the Fire Board last July,

According to Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart’s staff report, the Ripon Consolidated Fire District recently reviewed the development impact fees “as is done from time to time to ensure that adequate development fees are being collected to implement the goals and objectives of the City of Ripon’s General Plan,” he said.

The fees are for facilities and not ongoing expenses such as payroll.

Goodwin Consulting Group performed the analysis and published a report, updating the Ripon Consolidated Fire Protection District’s Fire Facilities Impact Fee dated June 30, 2023.

The result of the analysis and proposal of the Final Report:

·         Residential Fire Facilities Fees would increase by 8.1 percent.

·         Commercial and Office Fire Facilities Fees would increase by 8.2 percent

·         Industrial / Warehouse Fire Facilities Fees would increase by 8.4 percent.

The next step is for City Council to authorize the collection of the Fire Facilities Impact Fees following the adoption of the resolution.
