Plans for the new two-story Career Technical Education Center at Ripon High is currently in the planning stages.
Andy Strickland, who is Ripon Unified’s Director of Facilities, Operations & Safety Services, has been working with PBK Architect.
He provided an update of the work at last Monday’s RUSD school board meeting.
Strickland pointed out the following in his report:
· PBK held a kick-off meeting last month with the design consultants, making it the beginning of the design development phase.
· Along the way, PBK received an updated culinary layout from the kitchen consultant.
· PBK has scheduled the Design Development to conclude on Monday, May 16.
Not too long ago, Ripon Unified along with PBK worked on the Schematic Design Phase to get to this point.
Plans call for the CTE Center to accommodate a variety of career pathway courses for RHS students. This includes ag mechanics, ag science, ag business, culinary arts, software & systems development, and patient care.
This is also part of RUSD’s Phase 1 of the Facilities Assessment and Implementation master plan.
Construction of the CTE Center is planned for the area of the existing ag building, along the south end of the RHS campus.
Trustees, in addition, approved a lease-leaseback construction delivery method back in January.
