Since the planning and construction of the Career Technical Education building at Ripon High, Andy Strickland has provided updates on a monthly basis.
He’ll continue to do so at Monday’s 7 p.m. Ripon Unified school board meeting at City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
As RUSD Director of Facilities & Operations, Strickland is scheduled to speak on the latest progress on the two-story structure as part of his Facilities Report for April.
The work is being spearheaded by CT Brayton & Sons Construction – they started work on the CTE Cener in November 2022.
Their goal is for completion prior to the start of the 2024-2025 school year.
The CTE Center will include a variety of career pathway courses such as ag science, ag business, diesel mechanics, software & systems, and patient care, just to name a few.
The monthly session will also consist of:
· Ripon High Activities Director Jill Mortensen presenting the California Association of Director of Activities-Legislator of the Year Award to Trustee Vince Hobbs.
· The school board recognizing RUSD students for their participation in the South San Joaquin Irrigation District Vehicle Wrap Art Contest (the winning artwork is being featured on the tailgates of SSJID service vehicles).
· Trustees giving special recognition to Aaron “Luke” Ruba for his recent completion of the State Certified Information Technology Apprenticeship.
· RHS Principal Keith Rangel along with school counselor Shandi Ross, Social Studies teacher Robert Mayfield, and Science teacher Ann Pendleton along with several students will provide a presentation of the school.
· Harvest High Principal Kathy Diederich talking about the ALTA Language Service / Seal of Biliteracy.
