The League of California Cities annual Conference and Expo is back.
After 18 months of virtual meetings and events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 conference is scheduled Sept. 22 through 24 at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center.
“In the past, (the Ripon City Council) has sent one or two members to the meeting,” said City Administrator Kevin Werner at the July 13 meeting.
Councilman Leo Zuber believes that the League of California Cities event can be beneficial to new elected leaders.
He remembered the training as being “valuable” and something that his colleague, Tim Wheeler, might consider.
Wheeler can be considered a newcomer after being elected to Council in Nov. 2020.
The local CPA indicated that he would check his schedule to see if he could attend.
Council, in turn, voted Wheeler to serve as this year’s voting delegate.
Organizers of the three-day convention has been working closely with the convention center to ensure that important protocols and cleaning procedures continue and, if necessary, are strengthen.
According to the official website (www.calcities.org): “Our number one priority will continue to be the health and safety of participants.”
