RAP, as it’s better known by, is a structured and supervised program designed to provide a safe environment for students at the various campuses at the end of the regular school days.

RAP also had its summer of 2025 program.

At Monday’s Ripon Unified school board meeting Legris, who is the director of RAP, was recognized as Expanded Learning Coordinator of the Year.

She also brought along youngster Sophia from the summer program to share her experience.

Sophia is a first timer to the summer program.

She particularly enjoyed her day of fishing, which took place during the recent Durham Ferry field trip, along with participating in outside activities.

“We walked and walked,” she said, perhaps referencing one of the hikes.

Students from the RAP summer program also visited the Stockton Municipal Airport, where they were given a tour of all-the-behind the scenes work at the local airport.

They enjoyed a field trip to Fresno’s Chaffee Zoo as well as the Hilmar Cheese Factory.

Legris added that the RAP is partnering with the San Joaquin County Office of Education to pilot a summer Girls Scout program.
