State Senate hopeful Rhodesia Ransom — since launching her campaign — has outraised both of her opponents.

Rhodesia raised more than $158,800 for her campaign to replace outgoing Senator Susan Talamantes Eggman.

Out of all the Senate District 5 candidates, Rhodesia also led with the highest amount of individual contributions from 160 unique donors.

The former Tracy City Council member is also the only candidate to receive financial support from multiple labor unions.

“I’m proud to have grassroots support from working families, local businesses, and everyday residents in Senate District 5,” Rhodesia said. “The people of this district deserve an experienced leader in Sacramento who has a clear record of service to the community.”’

Ransom is a mom and wife, and public servant who delivered results in her more than two decades of experience as a non-profit co-founder of Sow A Seed Foundation, Tracy city planning commissioner, Tracy city council member, and congressional district director.

“This is my home where I’ve lived, raised my family, and built my career in service as a businesswoman, non-profit director, and public servant. I’m prepared to keep fighting for our community in the State Senate and bring real solutions that put people first,” Ransom said.

Senate District 5, which is currently represented by Talamantes Eggman, is an open seat due to term limits.

Based in San Joaquin and Alameda counties, the district contains the cities of Stockton, Livermore, Pleasanton, Tracy, Manteca, Lodi, Dublin, as well as unincorporated areas of each county.
