Reis, longtime Manteca football coach, is guest speaker for museum

Eric Reis, shown here during his football coaching days at Manteca High, will be the guest speaker at the Manteca Museum & Historical Society’s second series of “Words and Wine” on Wednesday, March 19.

Eric Reis spent 16 seasons as head coach of the Buffaloes.

During that time, his teams earned five Sac-Joaquin Section titles with three bowl appearances and 150 victories.

A 1987 graduate at Manteca High, Reis has served as Athletic Director at his alma mater since stepping down as coach following the 2017 season.

On Wednesday, March 19, he’ll be the guest speaker at the Manteca Museum & Historical Society’s second series of “Words and Wines,” from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The event featuring Stonum Winery – the Lodi winery will be providing the vino for the evening’s presentation – and light snacks at the Museum locate at 600 W. Yosemite Ave.

Reis has been involved in MHS athletics, beginning as a legendary football player followed by being an assistant coach and head coach.

Museum President David Nefouse is welcoming all former MHS athletes to attend the “Words and Wine” event.

He’s also encouraging all who plan to attend to please check out all the historical displays featuring MHS.
