Ray of Hope is still looking for donations of backpacks and school supplies.

The summer-long drive to assist students in need will conclude at the end of July.

“We’re still coming up short (on donations),” said Ray of Hope Executive Director Laura Saunders on Wednesday.

The annual backpack and school supply drive is part of the local non-profit agency’s Student Success School Supply program.

The donation list includes binders (both 2 inches and 4 inches), folders / dividers, highlight pens, mechanical pencils, pens, calculators, index cards, crayons, color pencils, college ruled paper, and notebooks.

Ray of Hope is also looking for donations of hygiene products such as hand sanitizers, deodorant, body spray, dry shampoo, Kleenex, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and mouth wash.

New shoes and clothes are always needed.

With the hot summer weather, Ray of Hope continues to seek donation for water, juice, and sunscreen for youngsters.

Supplies and other items can be dropped off at the Ray of Hope office at 113 W. Yosemite Ave., Manteca.
