PROBLEMATIC HOUSE FIRE
‘Hoarding’ made fire stubborn to extinguish
house fire
A dyer fire in the garage started a house fire at St. Francis and Windsor Place in Manteca Friday afternoon.

Seven units from two different departments battled a house fire Friday afternoon on the corner of Windsor Place at St. Francis Drive in the neighborhood northwest of Union Road and Louise Avenue.

The fire started in a dryer in the garage.

Manteca firefighters called for a second alarm after seeing what they were dealing with.

The fire had spread to the house.

And because the home was what was described as a “hoarder” house, the sheer amount of items made trying to extinguish the fire problematic.

Firefighters were on the scene for several hours.

And because gasoline had spilled out of the garage and into the gutter a hazmat cleanup was required.
