The Manteca Police Department is currently investigating a shooting at the Bowlero Bowling Alley on East Yosemite Avenue early Saturday morning that left one man suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to Manteca Police, the victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment from a gunshot wound. The patient was eventually transferred to Modesto for surgery and is believed to be recovering from injuries sustained in the shooting.
Officers responded to the bowling alley after a call of a shooting at 1 a.m. on Saturday morning, and discovered the victim upon arrival. He was ultimately transported to the hospital.
No information about suspects has been released by authorities, and police say that the incident is currently under active investigation.
The shooting marks the continuation of a busy summer for local investigators who have had to work to solve two murders that occurred within weeks of one another and then a freeway shooting that resulted in the death of an Amazon big rig driver that made national news.
A 21-year-old Manteca man was killed in front of his home in Woodward Park last month less than a week before a young woman was shot and killed in parking lot of the Manteca Marketplace while waiting for her boyfriend to get finished with his work shift. Manteca Police arrested the man they believe is responsible for shooting the 21-year-old as well as an accomplice that is being charged with conspiracy, and the suspects in Manteca Marketplace shooting ultimately died in a fiery crash later that night while being pursued by police in the Bay Area.
