Play-based autism therapy firm opens its second San Joaquin County location in Lodi

 Change with ABA is opening its second location in Lathrop.

To mark the occasion, a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring dignitaries and City of Lathrop staff was held Wednesday at the new center located at 16974 S. Harlan Road.

Included was Sonny Dhaliwal. The former longtime mayor is now with the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisor, representing District 3.

“Lathrop is still near and dear to my heart,” he said.

Change with ABA – an acronym for Applied Behavior Analysis, which provides play-based autism therapy, both home and at the center – is a small, family-owned business founded by Pooja Chopra, who is a board-certified behavior analyst.

 Her other Change with ABA is located in Lodi.

According to Lathrop Supervisor Alyssa Agbayani, Change with ABA, scheduled to open next week, will service youngsters age 18 month through 8 years old, at the new center. 

Teen-aged youngsters can receive in-home services.

“We understand the importance of what we do and the impact it has on your child’s growth and happiness. That’s why we promise transparency, dedication, and unwavering support – because your family deserves nothing less,” said Chopra.

In addition, Mayor Paul Akinjo, Councilmember Diane Lazard, Police Chief Stephen Sealy, Fire Chief David Bramel, City Manager Stephen Salvatore, and Economic Development Administrator Shelley Burcham, to name a few, were among those in attendance.
