Attendance Matters in the Ripon Unified School District.
That’s the program the recognizes schools and students with best attendance while offering assistance to those who have frequent absences.
At a recent school board meeting, Park View Elementary School was recognized for having the best attendance rate during the past month with Harvest High having the most improved numbers during that same span.
As for enrollment, RUSD had overall tally of 3,285 during the fourth reporting period, from Oct. 30 to Nov. 24.
Ripon High led the way with 1,019 students, followed by Ripona Elementary School (464), Park View Elementary School (461), Colony Oak Elementary (436), Ripon Elementary (435), Weston Elementary (435).
The Independent Study program had 20 students while the alternative education site, Harvest High, had 15.
Eleven instructors have also been added to the Ripon Unified substitute teaching pool.
They were among the new hires at a recent special session of the RUSD school board.
The certificated substitutes consisted of Eric Mooney, Chris Gomula-Kruzic, Katherine Dooley, Alejandra Villanueva, Emily Adams, Tylerr Bizzini, Madeline Adams, Meredith Zwiefel, Carly Kikland, Marsha Cardona, and Kristine Mayfield.
RUSD also hired a new bus driver in Lisa Triglia and a pair of paraeducators in Vanessa Garcia and Manal Said.
