The Ripon Police Department provided the parade route along with road closures for Saturday’s 62nd annual Almond Blossom Parade.
The parade featuring the newly-crowned ABF queen and officials from the South San Joaquin Irrigation District, this year’s grand marshal, will kick off at 1 p.m. at East Main Street and Stockton Avenue in downtown.
“Please note that the roadways will start closing down at approximately 11:45 a.m.,” police said via social media on Wednesday.
For safety reasons, they noted that once the roadways are closed, no traffic will be allowed on the parade route.
Police suggest folks arrive at their location on the parade route early or take advantage of one of the through ways.
Included are the intersections of West Main Street at Acacia Avenue, West Fourth Street at South Acacia Avenue – both areas will remain open until the parade starts for northbound and southbound traffic.
The intersection of Second Street at Vera Avenue will also remain open for eastbound and westbound traffic until the parade starts.
From Main Street (going west), the ABF will make its way to Vera Avenue, going south and turning east on Fourth Street enroute to the Ripon Community Center, 334 W. Fourth St.
