An open house is taking place Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 4:30 p.m. to give people the opportunity to learn about volunteer opportunities at the Thomas Toy Community Center.

The teen center is currently operating two days a week — Tuesdays and Thursdays.

They are now averaging 40 teens in attendance when they are open.

As more volunteers get involved, the center will be able to open additional days.

Those wishing to make an impact on teens are needed to share and teach skills in the areas of arts & crafts, business & finance, life-coaching, gardening, mechanical skills, media, music, recreation, spiritual formation and such.

Volunteers are also needed for events, to chaperone, staff the café, work the front desk and for janitorial needs.

Training for volunteers is scheduled for Nov. 25 from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m.

For more information visit the website at thomastoycc.org, call 209-407-2568 or email michelle@thomastoycc.com.

Light refreshments will be served during the open house.
