STOCKTON – The San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission is hosting an open house event for The Rail Academy of Central California (TRACC) on Thursday, Nov. 21.
It takes place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the ACE Rail Maintenance Facility located at 1020 E. Alpine Ave Stockton.
The event is designed to allow prospective students, families, and community members to explore the exciting educational opportunities and career pathways in the rail industry.
Attendees will have the chance to meet TRACC dedicated faculty, tour SJRRC’s state-of-the-art facility, and learn about the comprehensive programs designed to equip students with the skills needed for successful careers in rail operations.
Highlights of the open house will include:
*Informational sessions on the Railroad Operations certification from Sacramento City College
*Hands-on demonstrations of the TRACC on-ground training class.
*Opportunities to speak with industry professionals, faculty, alumni, and current students
*Free refreshments and giveaway items

The rail industry is experiencing a significant demand for skilled professionals, making this an ideal time for individuals seeking stable and fulfilling careers. TRACC is committed to providing high-quality education and training that aligns with industry needs.
On Aug. 1, 10 students successfully graduated from the inaugural TRACC Cohort. Of these graduates, two have already secured employment with Union Pacific Railroad.
Additionally, graduates of the program have initiated the interview process with several leading transportation organizations, including Union Pacific Railroad, Sierra Northern Railway, San Diego Metropolitan Transportation System, and the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission.
