Construction at the Career Technical Education building at Ripon High continued to make progress with flooring work on both the ground level and the second story taking place this week

Andy Strickland provided an update Monday on the construction of the Career Technical Education building at Ripon High.

The two-story structure, according to Ripon Unified’s Director of Operations, consisted of some floor work on the main floor with much of the same scheduled to take place on the second story come the following day.

“It’s been fun to go by (the construction site) daily and see something different later that day,” said Strickland at the monthly school board meeting.

He also raved about the multi-directional hoist, which is a crane that can go anywhere inside of the first floor of the building.

Once completed – October has been the target date – the CTE building will accommodate classes such as ag science, ag business, diesel mechanics, software & systems, and patient care.

Work began in October 2022 by the crew of CT Brayton & Sons Construction.

Strickland, in addition, reported the following:

·         Sunday Fun Day was the sprinkler system repair work conducted at Colony Oak Elementary School. He described as a “newer, two-wire system” that had some ongoing issues.

·         HVAC condenser replacement work was recently conducted by crew member Tom on the Student Service building.

·         The natural grass turf at the Stouffer Field is scheduled for some re-seeding given its usage consisting of football at both the high school and the local youth program levels, coupled with the addition of girls’ flag football. He noted that the work will take place before the upcoming soccer season.

·         The wall at the RHS tennis courts was recently replaced with that of a new one.
