Manteca Library is getting a new interior look, including replacing shelving and updating furniture in the Adult and Teen sections.
To allow for proper installation in the timeliest manner, the Manteca Library will temporarily close so that workers can safely remove and install shelving, books, furniture, and equipment.
The last day of regular library hours will be Sunday, March 6. The library will remain closed from Monday, March 7, through Sunday, April 3. The library will reopen on Monday, April 4.
Manteca Library due dates will be adjusted to accommodate the closure and reduce the risk of patrons incurring fines. Items may still be returned in the outside book drop on the east side of the building.
During this time, Manteca Library staff encourage patrons to visit any of the other 16 Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library locations during the closed dates. A complete list of Stockton-San Joaquin County branch locations and hours is available at https://www.ssjcpl.org/ under the tab “Locations”. Below are the branches nearest to the Manteca Library for those who wish to visit libraries closer to home:
*Lathrop Branch Library: 450 Spartan Way Lathrop at Generations Center, a short walk from the Lathrop High School.
*Ripon Branch Library: 333 W. Main Street located in downtown Ripon.
The library staff wishes to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this time of transition and look forward to continuing to serve the Manteca community to inspire a love for reading, promote inclusive lifelong learning opportunities, and provide a welcoming space for all.
