The eighth-grade class at New Haven Elementary School held Wednesday’s promotion ceremony inside the gym.

Members of the Class of 2022 were the first to do so since the completion of the on-campus facility.

About 67 of the classmates received their certificates for their academic efforts of the past few years.

The special event kicked off with eighth graders Annette DuBois and Dinamar Gonzalez Romo leading in the flag salute.

Principal Debbie Doyle welcomed those in attendance and provided recognition to staff, retired teachers and one retired principal – the school’s long-time administrator David O’Leary was among the honored guests.
