National Night Out in Manteca, Ripon & Lathrop
‘MEET YOUR NEIGHBORS’
NNO
Cool refreshments will once again be served up at the Community Center as part of the community-wide National Night Out in Ripon.

National Night Out promotes partnerships with police and community members in an effort to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

The annual event will once again take place today in Manteca, Lathrop, and Ripon.

In Manteca, the City’s Parks & Recreation Department along with the Manteca Police Department will be hosting a community event at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane, from 5 to 7 p.m.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect with neighbors and local law enforcement. Enjoy a variety of activities, including games, arts and crafts, and free food – it’s a fun, family-friendly environment that encourages community bonding and safety awareness,” police said via social media.

In the active adult community of Woodbridge by Del Webb, residents are once again expected to gather along their front yards or curbside, coming together for food, refreshments, and fellowship with their respective block parties.

The City of Lathrop Polce Department called NNO “one of our favorite events.”

Police, dignitaries, and firefighters from the Lathrop-Manteca Fire District will once again make the rounds, stopping the various block parties and neighborhood gatherings throughout the evening.

In Ripon, the big gathering will again take place at the Community Center, 334 Fourth St., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Hotdogs, chips, water, popcorn, and shaved ice will be free to those in attendance thanks to generosity of donors.

Police and firefighters will display their emergency vehicles – they’ll also take part in fun activities such as the dunk tank.

The community center will feature interactive Virtual Realty Police Simulators along face paintings and games.

During the past week, police hosted a series of “Unity in Our Community” events, leading up to NNO.

Included were safety presentations, an open house at the police department, free swim, a Shred-it Paper Disposal event, and Porchfest 2024 consisting of a variety of local musicians performing in front of the select homes in town.
