Measure Q — a three-quarter of a cent City of Manteca sales tax hike with a 20-year shelf life — was leading 51.39 percent (10,776 votes) to 48.61 percent (9,531 votes) as of 12:30 a.m. this morning.
The count at that time covered 153,496 ballots, or roughly 40.45 percent of all registered voters throughout San Joaquin County.
It wasn’t clear how many ballots were left to be counted.
Overall, the county has 378,657 registered voters.
If there was a 70 percent turnout — which would be a record high — it would mean there would be 111,559 votes left to count.
Again, that assumes a high 70 percent turnout.
It is also next to impossible to determine the number of ballots that remain to be counted for specific local races.
That said, here are where the counts stood on races that impacted Manteca, Ripon, and Lathrop as of 12:30 a.m.
