Mossdale School

Tuesday’s Promotion Ceremony at Mossdale Elementary School was the first for Principal Anthony Chapman.

He took over as the top administrator of the Manteca Unified site prior to the school year after holding various positions at his alma mater, Sierra High, over the years.

On this day, he and his Mossdale staff – Vice Principal Jeremy Brooks and Vice Principal Kim Washburn made up part of that group – gave a special send off to about 120 or so eighth graders.

The ceremony honoring the Class of 2023 included the school band performing the Star-Spangled Banner, and Ava Patterson and Zubin Judge serving as student speakers.

The eighth-grade faculty announced the recipients of the Mossdale Awards and the MUSD Awards.

Chapman had the honors of presenting the eighth graders for the presentation of their promotion certificates.

Most will be attending Lathrop High in the upcoming school year.
