Due to the holidays there are changes to the City of Manteca solid waste collection schedule for the next two weeks.
The changes apply to the weeks of Dec. 24 and Dec. 31.
Monday collection will not change. If your normal collection is Tuesday it will be moved to Wednesday. If it is on Wednesday it will be moved to Thursday. If it is on Thursday it will be moved to Friday. And if it is on Friday it will be moved to Saturday.
The shift in collection days allows solid waste workers to have Christmas Day and New Year’s Day off.
The city will collect Christmas trees free of charge that are placed curbside on your collection day starting Dec. 31 through Jan. 11.
All trees must be free of ornaments, lights, and stands.
Trees left out after Jan. 11 will be subject to a fine.
Leaf collection continues through Jan. 11 on your normal street sweeping days as detailed on the municipal website www.ci/manteca.ca.us accessed via a link on the public works’ page.
The city asks that you refrain from making leaf piles until the day before your scheduled leaf pickup day is possible. Also place piles of leaves outside of the gutter so they do not impede rain run-off. after Jan. 11, leaves should be placed in your green yard waste cart.
