Pete Paulsen and his crew received 29 bicycles for his non-profit Bikes For Kids free holiday giveaway from the Manteca Police Department.

Pete Paulsen and his non-profit Bike For Kids received a generous donation on the day before Thanksgiving.

The Manteca Police Department stepped up by donating 29 bicycles for the free holiday giveaway. Of that, 20 appear to be in great shape, Paulsen said on Wednesday.

"It took us two trips to haul off all of the bikes," he said, thanking Property/Evidence Officer Natalie Vera for setting up the arrangements.

Paulsen is looking to have 200 bikes ready for the Bikes For Kids giveaway set for Saturday, Dec. 10, at his ranch located at 1504 W. Bowman Rd., French Camp, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

He has about 90 to 100 bikes ready to go but is seeking volunteers to provide some TLC to the other bikes in need of repairs.

Paulsen started Bikes For Kids in 2018, and has given away hundreds of bicycles during that time to those in need.

He scheduled Dec. 3 for volunteers day, and is welcoming all helping hands to provide some time from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at his Paulsen Ranch.
