Manteca High — for all practical purposes — will be an all new campus designed to accommodate educational programming for 2,250 students by the start of the 2027-28 school year.
Ten new classrooms were already built two years ago followed by a new large gym, a new swimming pool, an expanded student parking lot, new softball field, and improvements leading to the stadium.
The next campus upgrade to be completed is the $13 million redo of the football field including new visitor seating and lighting.
It will be ready for the Nov.1 football game against Oakdale High.
What you can expect to be done at the start of the next three school years with proceeds from the $260 million Measure A bond and state funds is as follows:
2025-2026
*Completion of 22 classrooms in a pair of 2-story building plus a Career Technical Education building along Mikesell Street.
*Utility installation for the second increment of campus construction.
*Theatrical lighting upgrades.
2026-2027
*Demolition of existing classroom wings on the west side of the campus.
*The modernization and expansion of the administration building.
*The conversion of the library to art classrooms.
2027-2028
*Completion of the 2-story L-wing (similar to what is now being built along Union Road on the East Union High campus) that includes 31 classrooms and a media center.
*Expansion of the cafeteria.
*Removal of all portable classrooms.
*Stadium parking lot expansion along Mikesell.
