Manteca event features oldies music, lowrider cars

It’s oldies and lowrider night during Thursday’s (Aug. 15) Music on Maple taking place in the 100 block of Maple Avenue in downtown Manteca from 6 to 9 p.m.

It should be a pleasant summer evening at the National Weather Service calls for a high of 91 degrees that day.

People are being encouraged by the Manteca Recreation & Community Services to enter their car or truck in the car show for a chance at prizes. Call 209-456-8600 for details,

The evening includes live music, food trucks, local vendors, a beer and wine garden, as well as games and activities.

*MOVIES IN THE PARK: “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” is the featured film at the Movies in the Park taking place on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Woodward Park.

It starts at 5 p.m. with food trucks, games, live music and more. The movie starts at sundown.

*MUSIC ON  MAPLE: Hispanic Heritage Month is the theme for the Thursday, Sept. 19, Music on Maple in the 100 block of Maple Avenue in downtown starting at 6 p.m.

It will include Latin musical hits, a Mariachi band and Folklorico dancing.

Various Latino businesses will offer treats and eats.
