Manteca’s solid waste collection is being modified this weekl to allow municipal workers to spend New Year’s Day with their families.
Collection days for those with service on Mondays and Tuesdays did not change. There will be no service on Wednesday, Jan. 1
Those with service on Wednesday will have their carts collected on Thursday. That means Thursday service will shift to Friday while Friday will shift to Saturday.
*CHRISTMAS TREE PICK UP: Christmas trees will be picked up for no charge through Friday, Jan. 17, on your normal trash collection day.
All trees must be free or ornaments, lights, and stands. Trees that are left out after Jan. 17will be subject to a collection fee. Flocked trees are fine. The trees are taken to Harvest Power where they are chipped into compost.
*LEAF COLLECTION UNDERWAY: City of Manteca leaf collection will continue through Jan. 10. The city’s leaf crew will be collecting the leaves on the day before regular street sweeping days, which occur every other week in residential areas. Residents can determine which day their area is swept by viewing the map at http://www.ci.manteca.ca.us/pwt/stdiv/streetswp.pdf.
All residents who wish to participate are requested to place leaves only in loose piles in the street. They are also asked to refrain from making leaf piles until the day prior to their scheduled leaf pickup day.
