Main Street Day is back.
Ripon Chamber of Commerce CEO/President Kelly Donohue mentioned the return of the popular event featuring a variety of vendors, car show, pancake breakfast and petting zoo at the Aug. 10 Ripon City Council meeting.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Main Street Day was canceled a year ago.
The 36th annual event scheduled on Saturday, Oct. 16, has received plenty of enthusiasm regarding its return to downtown Ripon.
Chamber Marketing and Events Director Taylor Dahlin said Monday that 100 vendors are already signed on with any available spaces now being taken on a first come, first serve basis.
“We’re trying limited the type of vendors to no more than one or two of a kind,” she added.
Main Street Day will resemble that of the previous years with the Ripon Consolidated Fire District hosting the pancake breakfast coupled with the Ripon High Future Farmers of America bringing back the Petty Zoo and the array of vehicles being on display from downtown Main Street to Stockton Avenue.
The Ripon Memorial Library, in addition, will be conducting a book sale.
Food trucks and the many of the downtown shops and restaurant will be open for business, welcoming both locals and out-of-town visitors.
